A purpose-built volunteer hub combining secure accounts, session bookings, partner management and automated communications in one streamlined digital experience.

Thread Together needed more than a traditional website. Coordinating volunteers across locations, sessions and partner organisations required a dedicated platform that could handle applications, approvals, bookings, availability and ongoing communications. Rather than adapting the organisation's processes around a rigid third-party product, Space66 developed a bespoke volunteer management application designed around the way Thread Together actually operates.
Using modern AI-assisted development workflows, we built a custom application connected to Thread Together's existing Webflow website. The platform combines a responsive interface with secure authentication, a structured database and automated communications. Volunteers can discover and book opportunities, while administrators and partner organisations manage sessions, capacities, attendance and reporting. It's an example of how AI-assisted coding, sometimes called vibe coding, can make ambitious custom software projects more achievable when paired with experienced technical oversight.
Custom application design and development combining AI-assisted coding, volunteer management workflows, secure data architecture and Webflow integration.
Create a scalable volunteer booking and management system that simplifies administration for Thread Together and its partner organisations while making volunteering easier to access. The platform needed to support applications and approvals, secure accounts, location-based opportunities, bookings, cancellations, capacity limits, communications and reporting without relying on a collection of disconnected subscription tools.
Space66 designed and developed a bespoke volunteer hub from the ground up, using AI-assisted development to accelerate implementation while retaining control over architecture, functionality and quality. Built around a custom application with Supabase for authentication and data, automated transactional emails and integration with the existing Webflow website, the solution brings volunteer registration, opportunity management, bookings and administration into one coordinated platform.

Thread Together now has a purpose-built volunteer platform that brings together key workflows previously requiring multiple systems or manual coordination. Volunteers can manage their opportunities and bookings, while administrators and partners have dedicated tools for scheduling, capacity management, communications and reporting. The application provides a flexible foundation for ongoing improvements without forcing the organisation into a generic software workflow.
The project demonstrates how modern AI-assisted development can make bespoke business applications more practical and accessible. Instead of compromising around an off-the-shelf platform, Thread Together has a system designed for its own operational needs. Webflow provides the public-facing website experience, while the custom application handles more complex workflows behind the scenes. Experienced development oversight ensures that faster production still supports reliability, security and maintainability.
