Supporting ongoing digital communications across channels.
In December 2011, Bartle Bogle Hegarty was awarded the £36million Virgin Media advertising account. At this point our team had been colocated within BBH for several years, so we were wholly invested in the design, animation and development required for the pitch. What followed was many years of excellent work.
Our team, dubbed ‘Addictive Pixel’, had been working on the pitch for over three months in epic fashion. 4 x designers, 2 x animators, 2 x 3D designers and 2 x producers worked tirelessly to help win the account. We produced a fully animated Call of Duty TV ad from scratch, redesigned Virgin Media’s website – in full – and produced dozens of DOOH. It’s amazing how much work you can do when you bring sleeping bags into the office.
Once celebrations had ended, we were responsible for ongoing digital comms ranging from microsites and content, to digital banners, DOOH and TV Visual Effects. This included quarterly national campaigns featuring Richard Branson, Usain Bolt and the lazy bear, to name a few.
We also assisted BBH in generating soft pitch material throughout, helping visualise ideas and bring client presentations to life. Central to our Virgin Media remit was a clear understanding of the clients needs. Our designers and developers worked with agency creatives from concept phase acting as brand guardians and advising on feasibility.
Throughout every project our dedicated Virgin Media producers worked tirelessly to ensure every pixel was thoroughly checked and tested before being shared with the client. Quality Assurance is at the forefront of everything we do, so our timelines are as realistic as our producers. If we don’t feel the project can be delivered on time, budget and to a high standard, we’ll make that clear.
